Women Find Their voices In Centuries-Old Forms
It is with pride and great anticipation that Omega Publications announces that Pieces of Her Mind will be available for sale on November 15, 2012.Between the beautiful covers, which are works of art in themselves, are original poems and drawings offered by a truly gifted and clever collection of poets. Best of all, you don’t need to be a woman or a poet to enjoy these delightful little zingers, just have a sense of humor. When Sue Campion first approached us about this project, I thought it would be an incredible undertaking – imagine getting eighteen women to agree on anything – but under her knowledgeable and capable management, it turned out to be a delightful adventure in every way. Sue and I had worked together on an earlier multi-author poetry book that OP published in 2010, so I knew her as an experienced veteran with much to share. Through membership in an international writing site, I’d also read works from many of the contributing poets, so I knew the quality was there, and their editor, Alvin Ethington, was a well-known and respected poet in his own right. We had everything in place to produce a hit.I’m holding a proof copy in my hands right now and it is gorgeous. The colors are rich and vibrant and very Oriental, befitting the major theme of the book. Suzanne Fuller created a cover so unique and intriguing, I can’t imagine anyone seeing the book and not opening it, and once you do, there’s no turning back. You can’t read just one. Those in the know can read the back cover kudos from various experts in the poetic field, and those looking for knowledge in this type of poetry have hit a goldmine. For those of us who are just in the mood for a chuckle, we have it all, right here in what I’ve affectionately dubbed Pieces. What a great Christmas gift to anyone on your list, including yourself. Most highly recommended.
